Unlike the Applied Vocal Music and High School Choir classes, Praise Band is not an applied music class in that students must audition in order to be enrolled. Students must demonstrate a proficiency in either an instrumental or vocal audition. Auditions take place at the end of each semester; for instance, students desiring to enroll in Praise Band for the following school year must audition at the end of the current year’s spring semester. The Praise Band consists of instrumental and vocal students who lead the high school student body in chapel worship every week. In addition, the Praise Band leads worship for school events such as See You at the Pole, Senior Assembly, and more. Periodically, Praise Band students also recess from music rehearsal for a deliberate theological survey in the interest of providing a holistic musical-theological training.
