Applied Vocal Music is an introductory course including a study of the anatomical composition of the vocal mechanism. Utilizing the Blaylock Vocal Method, students undergo an intensive study of formal instruction, optimizing vocal quality by achieving proper vocal alignment and demonstrating a natural and individual timbre of the voice. The Blaylock Vocal Method achieves proper vocal alignment in terms of the singing posture, rather than that of the speaking posture. Students also learn how to care for their voice, refine speaking patterns, and employ proper breathing techniques. Students who satisfactorily undergo this course will demonstrate significant and noticeable improvement in their speech and singing. The Applied Vocal Music class will also be featured in a CD recording with Prism Music in the fall of 2019.
