About Us

Southcrest Christian School, established in 1993, is a ministry of Southcrest Baptist Church and services students in grades pre-Kindergarten through 12th grades.

There are two campuses conveniently located in Lubbock, TX. The main campus is located at Southcrest Baptist Church, 3801 S. Loop 289.  The adjunct campus, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, serves as the facility for pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade and as an additional athletic facility at 7702 Indiana Avenue.  The two campuses are less than one mile apart and the church partnership has been a win-win for Christian education.

Enrollment information is available online or by calling the SCS office at (806) 797-7400.  Campus tours and placement testing are available by appointment between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The mission of Southcrest Christian School is to love and value each child by affirming the gifts and challenging the potential of each student with academic excellence and a strong Biblical foundation, while empowering students with a Christian worldview for a lifetime of faith and service.

As a ministry of Southcrest Baptist Church the school began in 1993 under the leadership of Dr. David L. Wilson.  Currently, SCS is accountable to the Board of Trustees, made up of Southcrest Baptist Church members and parents, appointed by the Board and approved by the senior pastor.

Southcrest Christian School is an ACTABS TEPSAC accredited school in compliance with TEA.  We are also members of TABS, SBACS and ACSI.  In addition, Southcrest competes in the TAPPS organization in fine arts and sports.

Southcrest Christian School has a Biblically integrated curriculum including: foreign languages featuring Spanish and Mandarin, fine arts, athletics, Chapel and core subjects with small class sizes.  The Mac computer lab features Rosetta Stone and Lexia.  SCS is proud of our award winning Warrior Band and District Champion Robotics team.

SCS education is not a refuge from, but rather, a resource for a rapidly changing world!
